LG CNS established industry-linked contract departments with Korea University starting from the spring semester this year, and with Yonsei University starting from the fall semester this year. Through these contract department programs, LG CNS plans to nurture digital transformation (DX) talents who can be immediately deployed in the field without separate job training in various industrial areas such as ▲AI ▲data ▲mathematical optimization. To this end, DX experts were involved to jointly develop the curriculum, including course composition and class operation, together with the faculty of each university.
The Korea University contract department curriculum is expected to consist of ▲mathematical foundations and programming for data science ▲AI-based natural language processing and text data analysis ▲understanding and application of generative AI ▲case studies of AI applications. Yonsei University's curriculum is composed of ▲data analysis ▲mathematical optimization.
LG CNS also provides various benefits to the finally selected contract department new students. Selected new students will receive full support for admission fees and tuition for all semesters within the program, and a fixed monthly academic allowance for research activities. Students who graduate and obtain their degrees are also guaranteed employment at LG CNS. Master's students at Yonsei University will also be given internship opportunities at LG CNS during vacation periods.
The educational programs at each university are open to anyone who wishes to grow into elite experts in AI, data, and mathematical optimization, regardless of their undergraduate major. However, applicants with research or practical experience in AI and data fields will be given preference.
Ko Youngmok, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO) of LG CNS, emphasized, "The most valuable resource for LG CNS's future is outstanding DX talent," adding, "We will continue efforts to actively nurture and secure talent through industry-academic cooperation."
