Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the opening ceremony of the ‘Yeongdeungpo-dong Public Complex Center,’ established to enhance the welfare and convenience of local residents, on October 2nd, and will begin full-scale operations.

The Yeongdeungpo-dong Public Complex Center is a multi-purpose facility spanning from three basement levels to five above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 8,558㎡ (approximately 2,588 pyeong). Through this modernized space, the district plans to provide integrated welfare and cultural services beyond simple administrative service delivery.

The public complex center includes a total of 76 parking spaces in both affiliated and public parking lots located on basement levels 1 to 3. In particular, the district operates a public parking lot for merchants and visitors of the Yeongdeungpo Traditional Market, contributing to the revitalization of the local commercial area and alleviating parking difficulties. When using the Yeongdeungpo Traditional Market, the public parking lot is available free of charge for up to 2 hours.

The first floor above ground houses the ‘National and Public Happy Yeong-i Daycare Center,’ and the second floor is newly occupied by the ‘Yeongdeungpo-dong Community Service Center,’ providing prompt and efficient administrative services.

From the third to the fifth floors above ground is the ‘Yeongjung Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.’ The Yeongjung Comprehensive Social Welfare Center is the 100th welfare center in Seoul and the third comprehensive social welfare center to open in the district in 21 years, carrying symbolic significance. Through this welfare center, the district plans to offer customized welfare services that cover all generations. In particular, programs for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and low-income families will be strengthened to continue walking alongside the disadvantaged.

The opening ceremony of the Yeongdeungpo-dong Public Complex Center will be held at 4 p.m. on October 2nd in the gymnasium on the 5th floor of the center. The ceremony will feature various programs that local residents can enjoy together, including a commemorative speech by Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and an introduction to the center’s facilities.

Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon stated, “I hope the Yeongdeungpo-dong Public Complex Center will establish itself as a hub of public services that provides residents with a pleasant environment and high-quality services,” adding, “Especially through Seoul’s 100th welfare center, we will do our best to provide customized welfare services that satisfy all generations, from children to the elderly.”
