Fire Breaks Out at 4,547-Pyeong Factory in Fujian Province
A fire broke out on the morning of the 29th (local time) at the CATL factory, the world's No. 1 Chinese battery manufacturer.
The Fire Rescue Battalion of the Dongjiao Economic and Technological Development Zone in Ningde City, Fujian Province, southeastern China, announced that at 11:26 a.m. that day, a report was received of a fire at a standalone building (area of 15,000㎡, approximately 4,547 pyeong) belonging to CATL within the development zone.
The Fire Rescue Battalion immediately carried out rescue and emergency response operations upon receiving the report and stated, "So far, no casualties have been reported."
Earlier, the Chinese economic media outlet Jailyuan also reported that a fire occurred at CATL's Z factory in Ningde City.
Jailyuan shared photos showing flames and black smoke rising from the factory but did not disclose specific damage details.
In a report around 3 p.m., the outlet cited a Ningde City emergency management official stating that the fire at the CATL production facility had already been extinguished.
A Ningde City official explained, "The fire at the Z factory was extinguished shortly after it started, and people evacuated early, so there are currently no casualties," adding, "A command post has been established on site, and city leaders are directing the response."
