Addicted to Chocolate but Lost 20kg in Two Months... Check Out the Diet of an Australian Woman

AustraliaNews.com recently reported on Sophie Brown, a mother of four who completely transformed her body shape in just two months. She used to consume food without much restraint. Due to her love of sweet foods, her weight reached 90 kg, and her cholesterol levels were very high. Although her doctor warned her about the risk of a heart attack, it was difficult for her to change her eating habits.

What changed her was the death of a friend. Sophie Brown said, "I lost a friend. It wasn't related to weight, but seeing the children left behind made me think a lot," adding, "Realizing that I could leave my children behind made me feel the need to change."

Feeling the necessity for change, Sophie joined a weight loss program and took part in an 8-week challenge. She dramatically reduced her sugar intake and filled her diet with salmon, corn, avocado, and other foods. She was so addicted to sugar that she used to eat chocolate immediately after waking up in the morning, and when struggling with cravings, she sought counseling. Her exercise portfolio consisted of strength training and high-intensity interval training.

During the 8-week program, Sophie did short and intense workouts for 28 minutes every day. High-intensity interval training is a method of repeating short bursts of high-intensity exercise. It involves doing high-intensity exercise for 1 to 2 minutes until you are out of breath, then taking a short rest or doing low-intensity exercise to recover, and repeating the high-intensity exercise 3 to 7 times. Adding strength training helped protect her basal metabolic rate and muscle mass even as she lost weight.

Sophie expressed her satisfaction, saying, "More important than losing weight is that I no longer rely on the scale and can maintain a balanced lifestyle, which makes me very happy."
