64.9% "Worry About Physical Health"
40.9% Also Concerned About Mental Health

According to a survey, 9 out of 10 Koreans take health functional foods regularly. The average monthly expenditure on health management was 219,000 KRW.

On the 29th, the Management Research Institute under KB Financial Group released the "2024 Korea Wellness Report" containing these findings. This report was based on an online and mobile survey conducted from April 1 to 15 among men and women aged 25 to 69 nationwide who are economically active.


According to the report, 87% of respondents had health checkups at least once every two years (38.4% at least once a year + 48.6% once every two years), and 90% answered that they have been consistently taking health functional foods or nutritional supplements for more than one month. The most commonly consumed health functional foods were multivitamins (multiple responses 65.0%), probiotics (43.7%), omega-3 (35.4%), and calcium-magnesium (26.4%), in that order.


The average monthly expenditure on health management among respondents was 219,000 KRW.


The level of concern about physical health was recorded at an average of 3.67 points out of 5 (1 point for no concern at all to 5 points for very concerned), and the level of concern about mental health was 3.19 points. About 65% of respondents said they were "concerned about their physical health," and the proportion concerned about mental health was 40.9%.
