Free Meal Service for Over 500 Seniors
Mayor Donghwan Lee: "We Will Deliver Warm Hands with a Heart of Togetherness"
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City is participating in a free meal volunteer activity with the Goyang District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society on the 28th. Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) held a free meal service for about 500 elderly people on the 28th at Neunggok Station Square as part of the 'Warmth Sharing Campaign' in collaboration with the Goyang District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association (President Park Jin-su).
The city, together with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, has been running the 'Warmth Sharing Campaign' since December last year by establishing its own task force to practice sharing with marginalized neighbors.
On this day, more than 50 members of the Goyang District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association participated in the volunteer activity, providing warm meals to the elderly.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to the members of the Red Cross Volunteer Association who prepared warm meals for the elderly," adding, "We will continue to do our best to extend warm hands to more neighbors with a spirit of togetherness."
