The Gangdong Police Station in Seoul urgently detained a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of attempted murder.

Mr. A is accused of setting fire to his acquaintance Mr. B's body with a lighter around 11:45 a.m. the previous day on a street in Godeok-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, as Mr. B was trying to escape. Investigations revealed that before setting the fire, Mr. A boarded a vehicle carrying a flammable liquid, thinner, which he sprayed on Mr. B's body. Although the fire was extinguished when Mr. B took off his clothes, both Mr. A and Mr. B suffered severe burns over their entire bodies and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

It is known that Mr. A committed the crime out of a personal grudge against Mr. B. The police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the incident once both parties have recovered.
