General Jeong Mun-bu's 400th Death Anniversary Commemoration '2nd Chunguigong Arts Festival' Successfully Concluded

Mayor Kim Dong-geun is attending the '2nd Chungui-gong Arts Festival' held at General Jeong Mun-bu's tomb on the 28th and is taking a commemorative photo with officials.

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) successfully held the 2nd Chungui Gong Arts Festival on the 28th to commemorate the 400th anniversary of General Jeong Mun-bu's (1565?1624) death.

The Chungui Gong Arts Festival, held at the tomb of General Jeong Mun-bu, a cultural heritage site designated by Gyeonggi Province, was hosted and organized by the civic group Simin Gonggam and the Haejoo Jeongssi Songsan Jongjung.

Prior to the main event, a series of pre-events were held, starting with the 'Chungui Gong Arts Festival Lighting Ceremony' on the 12th, followed by the 'Hangawi Traditional Games Experience Festival' during the Chuseok holiday, and on the 21st, the '6th Jeong Mun-bu General Cup Youth Basketball Tournament,' which widely promoted General Jeong Mun-bu's spirit of loyalty and filial piety.

The main event began with a collaborative parade performance by the Uijeongbu Chwita Band and Dubitnarae Arts Troupe, followed by magic shows and musical plays. Additionally, various programs such as the Challenge OX Family Golden Bell, the Bukgwan Battle Monument Exhibition, and traditional culture experience booths were operated, receiving great acclaim.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun expressed his gratitude, saying, "I thank Simin Gonggam and Haejoo Jeongssi Songsan Jongjung for their efforts to connect General Jeong Mun-bu, a historical figure of Uijeongbu City, with the local community," and added, "Uijeongbu City will jointly manage General Jeong Mun-bu's tomb so that many citizens who love history and culture can enjoy it."
