'Green Fashion' Theme from October 1-5 at BEXCO and Busan Fashion Biz Center

Busan City will host the "2024 Korea-ASEAN Fashion Week, University Fashion Festival" under the theme of "Green Fashion" for five days from October 1 at BEXCO and the Busan Fashion Biz Center.
The "Korea-ASEAN Fashion Week" began as a special event of the 2019 Korea-ASEAN Special Summit and has continued to be held to promote the global expansion and strengthen the competitiveness of the textile and fashion industry.
This year, the event will be held under the theme of "Green Fashion," which represents a sustainable circular economy in the textile and fashion industry.
The event is hosted by the city and organized by the Busan Textile and Fashion Industry Association.
This year's event will kick off with the opening ceremony of "Festival Siwol," a Busan convergence festival, at 7 p.m. on October 1 at BEXCO. From October 2, for four days at the Busan Fashion Biz Center, a variety of programs will take place, including a global brand fashion show, the University Fashion Festival, a "Busan Showroom" brand alliance pop-up store, and a fashion digital exhibition.
The opening ceremony of "Festival Siwol" will feature an opening fashion show and an orchestra performance.
The "Global Brand Fashion Show" will feature 11 domestic brand designers and designers from four ASEAN member countries (Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Brunei).
The 10 ASEAN member countries are Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Brunei.
The Korea and ASEAN Designer Fashion Show will feature a total of 16 brands, including designers Baek Jinju (Studio di Perla), Lee Seongdong (Ulkin), Choi Bokho (CHOIBOKO), Park Linjun (Pale Ter Quise), Ha Sojeong (Disemicolon13Project), Kim Miji (MijiMiji13Project), Jeon Yuha (Plasmid13Project), Lee Hyowon (ILLOJE), Lee Hwasook (Pearl by Annie), Baek Juhee (Rionbe), Lee Younghee (Lee Younghee Present), and five ASEAN designers, bringing a wave of fashion to Busan.
The "University Fashion Festival" will include nine universities (Kyungsung University, Tongmyong University, Dongseo University, Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, Pukyong National University, Busan National University, Silla University, and Youngsan University). Gyeongsang National University and Ulsan University will present the opening fashion show.
The works of the brands participating in the fashion show will be available for purchase at the pop-up store in Shinsegae Department Store Centum City for five days from October 31 to November 4.
Park Dongseok, Director of the City’s Advanced Industry Bureau, stated, "Through progressive exchanges based on the fashion culture between Busan and the ASEAN member countries, next year we will present even higher-level fashion shows and Busan Showroom pop-up stores through 'Busan Fashion Week.' We also plan to establish a new global order-matching consultation corner to support the global leap of domestic fashion designers."
