Proposals for Traffic and Road Environment Improvements and Community Center Establishment... "Will Sequentially Resolve Various Pending Issues"
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang City is holding a communication meeting with residents of Ilsan 3-dong on the 25th. Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 27th that it held communication meetings with residents of four neighborhoods (Ilsan 3-dong, Deogi-dong, Madu 1-dong, Baekseok 1-dong) from the 25th to the 27th.
Since taking office, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan has held annual 'Communication Meetings with Neighborhood Residents,' and this year, starting with Daehwa-dong on July 22, he has visited 18 neighborhoods until September 27 to listen to residents' grievances and suggestions and gather their opinions.
The mayor emphasized, "The importance of being on-site cannot be overstated," and added, "We will implement open administration through continuous communication with residents."
At this meeting, suggestions included ▲ relocating bus stops and installing shelters ▲ increasing the number of Nuribus buses and improving connections between GTX stations and buses ▲ promoting the conversion of Songpo Reserve Forces Training Center into a park ▲ repaving Baekma-ro road in Ilsandong-gu ▲ installing sports facilities in Baekma Park ▲ and promoting the establishment of a complex community center in Ilsan 3-dong.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan stated, "I will carefully attend to each valuable opinion from residents to ensure none are overlooked," and added, "For projects involving large budgets, such as building community centers or constructing new roads, we will prioritize and proceed sequentially based on the city's financial conditions."
He further noted, "If the ongoing key projects such as the designation of the Goyang Free Economic Zone and the development of the Changneung New Town are successfully completed, Goyang City will be reborn as a self-sufficient city harmonizing jobs, housing, and green spaces," adding, "At that time, various financial issues will naturally be resolved."
Meanwhile, a city official stated that plans are underway to visit seven neighborhoods, including Haengju-dong, next month, and that they will do their best to ensure the schedule proceeds smoothly until all 44 neighborhoods of Goyang City have been visited.
