Gijang County Launches Campaign Urging Legislation of the 'Busan Global Hub City Special Act' Jung Jongbok, mayor of Gijang County, and residents of Jeonggwan-eup are conducting a campaign urging the enactment of the Busan Global Hub City Special Act.

This special act is centered on providing tax exemptions and financial support to foster Busan as a logistics, finance, digital, and high-tech industry hub. At this point, when Busan needs to secure new growth engines for the future, the swift passage of this law is urgently needed.

This campaign was launched to help establish the legal foundation for Busan's growth as a global hub city, with Gijang-gun actively participating. It began in Gijang-eup on September 20 and continued for five days, concluding in Cheolma-myeon on the 26th.

The campaign saw participation from over 100 local representatives from the five towns and townships, including Gijang-gun Mayor Jeong Jongbok. They emphasized the necessity and significance of the Global Hub City Special Act, further intensifying the campaign with a simultaneous signature drive to support the legislation.

Mayor Jeong Jongbok stressed, "This special act is an essential bill for Busan to serve as a new growth axis of Korea and as an international hub city," and urged, "We ask for the active interest and participation of all residents."

The signature campaign began this month and can be joined online through the Busan City website or offline at the nearest administrative welfare center.
