The Korea Exchange announced on the 27th that it will launch the Future Business Division on the 30th to respond to the rapidly changing domestic and international capital market competition environment.
The Future Business Division plans to strengthen its business capabilities through the specialization and advancement of index and data businesses, and focus on securing future growth engines by discovering new revenue models amid the intensifying competitive environment, such as the establishment of alternative exchanges.
To this end, the Index Business Department and Data Business Department will be separated from the Management Support Headquarters, and the Future Business Division will be newly established, forming a total of three specialized business departments within the Future Business Division.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the headquarters' relocation to Busan in 2025, the Korea Exchange has decided to locate the Future Business Division in Busan as part of its continued efforts toward Busan. This will establish a system of seven headquarters?four in Busan and three in Seoul?with differentiated management strategies prepared for each division.
A Korea Exchange official stated, "With the launch of the Future Business Division, we will establish a flexible decision-making structure suitable for a business organization and focus on strengthening the competitiveness of existing businesses as well as discovering new business opportunities."
