Yeosu Initiates Development of Symbolic Design for 'Night Tourism'

City Holds Development Service Kickoff Meeting
Begins Discovering Slogans and Brand Image

Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that on the 24th, it held a kickoff meeting for the ‘Night Tourism Specialized City Slogan and Brand Image (BI) Development Project’ and has officially begun the design development.

This project was initiated as Yeosu City was finally selected for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s public contest project, ‘Night Tourism Specialized City Development Project,’ securing a total budget of 3.2 billion KRW, including 1.2 billion KRW in national funds, over four years until 2027, to develop a symbolic design reflecting the region’s unique identity and characteristics.

Participants shared the purpose of developing the night tourism specialized city slogan and brand image (BI) through the kickoff meeting and exchanged various opinions to determine the direction of the project.

The project will continue until February next year, and the city plans to utilize the differentiated design in night tourism projects and marketing.

A city official stated, “Through a symbol imbued with special meaning, we will promote Yeosu as a night tourism specialized city and lead stay-type tourism to invigorate the local economy.”

Meanwhile, the city is solidifying the image of a night tourism specialized city with night programs that expand Yeosu’s night sea spaces such as the development of auditory content representing Yeosu’s night, the waterfront park at Gukdong Port, and Jangdo Island, the Island of Arts.
