Introduction to Popular Creative Services, Page Integration, and Review Features Provided
Nexon announced on the 27th that it has established a new user-created service promotion category on its game data utilization platform, ‘Nexon Open API’.
Nexon Open API is a public platform that allows anyone to utilize data within Nexon games, such as user information, ranks, and items, for developing user-created services.
Since its renewal and reopening last December, the number of use cases has been rapidly increasing. More than 100 user-created web and app services have been generated using Nexon game data, and over 80,000 third-party services created on a one-time basis are known to exist. To download game data, 100,000 API keys have been issued so far, and the average daily data query volume reaches 50 million.
Nexon has completely revamped the UI of the Nexon Open API homepage to actively promote services created by external developers and to facilitate smooth communication with users. The main page of the homepage now allows users to immediately check popular user-created services, enhancing service accessibility. Individual service detail pages provide service introductions, buttons to move to external platforms, and user reviews.
Along with the establishment of the user-created service promotion page, Nexon also updated the types of game data provided. Notably, new data items for ‘Mabinogi Heroes’ have been updated, allowing users to check more detailed data such as the marketplace, item-applied skills, and item collection points, in addition to basic character and equipment information. Furthermore, Nexon plans to continuously expand the games for which data is provided by reflecting user feedback, including adding game data for ‘Mabinogi’ and ‘First Descendant’ next month.
Junyong Bae, head of Nexon Intelligence Labs, said, "As Nexon Open API has received much love, we have revamped the platform to expand user convenience from being developer-centered. We will continue to provide various support to create a sustainable user service creation ecosystem."
