Paju-si, Gyoha Jokgu Exclusive Stadium Opens on the 26th

Paju-si, Gyoha Jokgu Exclusive Stadium Opens on the 26th Paju City held an opening ceremony for the Gyohwa Jokgu Exclusive Stadium within Gyohwa Sports Park on the 26th.

On the 26th, Paju City in Gyeonggi Province held an opening ceremony for the Gyohwa Jokgu Dedicated Stadium within Gyohwa Sports Park.

The event was successfully held with the attendance of Paju Mayor Kim Kyung-il, City Council Chairman Park Dae-sung, provincial and city council members, heads of Gyohwa-dong organizations, and about 100 residents.

The Gyohwa Jokgu Dedicated Stadium was constructed with a total project cost of 2 billion KRW, featuring a single above-ground floor and a total floor area of 1,776㎡. It is an indoor jokgu stadium equipped with two courts.

Since December 2022, the city has continuously communicated with local residents and related organizations to gather opinions before commencing construction. The construction, which began in November 2023, was completed in August.

In particular, Gyohwa-dong had long suffered from a lack of sports facilities, causing inconvenience to residents’ physical activities. This new stadium fulfills the residents’ long-standing wish. The newly opened stadium is a dome-shaped structure with a membrane roof, allowing convenient exercise throughout all four seasons, and is expected to greatly contribute to promoting residents’ health and activating community sports.

Mayor Kim Kyung-il expressed his gratitude to all those involved in the construction of the Gyohwa Jokgu Dedicated Stadium, stating, “It holds special significance in providing all Paju citizens with equal opportunities to enjoy sports welfare. We will continue to create citizen-centered sports facilities that enhance the quality of life for a greater Paju.”
