Punggi-eup in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk, signed a 'Live in Punggi! Joint Public-Private Response Agreement for Increasing Population' with 13 local organizations and institutions on the 26th.

The signing ceremony, held at the Punggi-eup Administrative Welfare Center, was attended by Gyeongbuk Aviation High School, Nonghyup Bank Punggi Branch, Punggi Agricultural Cooperative, Punggi Ginseng Agricultural Cooperative, Yeongju Livestock Cooperative Punggi Branch, Punggi Saemaeul Geumgo, Village Leaders' Council, Residents' Autonomy Committee, Sports Association, Saemaeul Leaders' Council, Saemaeul Women's Association, Bareuge Salgi Committee, and the Community Security Council.

During the two-year agreement period, Punggi-eup and the 13 organizations and institutions will make joint efforts to increase the population based on mutual understanding and cooperation.

Punggi-eup will develop various policies to increase the population, while the organizations and institutions will participate in the 'Adopt a Punggi Address' campaign for residents not yet registered in the area, promote population increase initiatives, and take part in education on population and low birth rates.

Choi Jongchil, principal of Gyeongbuk Aviation High School, said, "Let's establish an organic public-private cooperation system to overcome the crisis of population decline and local extinction together."

Jung Bongyeol, head of Punggi-eup, stated, "The support and roles of organizations and institutions were very significant in last year's population increase activities," and added, "The public and private sectors will work together with one heart and one mind to address population issues."
