Uljugun to Open Pedestrian Path along Jagwaecheon Stream

Creating a 330m Riverside Walking Trail

Ulsan Ulju County announced on the 27th that it has constructed a pedestrian walkway along the Jakgwaecheon stream in the Eongeok Alps-ri area of Sangbuk-myeon.

Ulju County created the new walkway by utilizing national and public land to provide local residents with a safe and convenient passage. Previously, residents in this area had to walk along the embankment of the stream or cross farmland, raising safety concerns.

To improve the environment by developing the relatively underdeveloped left side of the Jakgwaecheon stream, compared to the right side where campsites and other facilities are located, Ulju County invested a total of 500 million KRW and began constructing the walkway in June.

The new walkway is 2 meters wide and 330 meters long, with safety railings installed to eliminate potential hazards. By utilizing this walkway, campers and tourists can be guided to nearby residential areas, which is expected to contribute to the mutual development of the region.

An Ulju County official stated, "The newly constructed walkway will ensure the walking safety of local residents and campsite users," and added, "We expect that it will also serve as an opportunity to promote the beautiful Jakgwaecheon stream to tourists during the 9th Ulsan Ulju Mountain Film Festival this year."
