Handonghun "Is the Chinese-style Economy the Goal of the Democratic Party?"

Lee Jae-myung, After the 250,000 Won Support Bill Was Abolished
"China Does It, So Why Don't We?" Remarks

Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, posted on social media (SNS) on the 27th, asking Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, "Is the Chinese-style economy the goal of the Democratic Party?" He criticized Lee's remark regarding the rejection of the Special Measures Act for the Payment of Livelihood Recovery Support Funds (the law to provide 250,000 won to all citizens), where Lee said, "China is doing it, so why aren't we?"

On the same day, Lee pointed out at the party's Supreme Council meeting, "Shanghai, China's largest economic city, is issuing coupons worth about 500 million yuan (94.54 billion won) to promote consumption," adding, "The local markets are literally withering away, the lives of ordinary people are truly shrinking, and shops are closing down one after another. Can't we just help increase sales a bit?" He was criticizing the final rejection of the 250,000 won support law for all citizens after a re-vote in the National Assembly the previous day.

In response, Han is interpreted to have criticized the opposition party's policy, as the government and ruling party have opposed the law, calling it a 'populist cash handout law.' Meanwhile, on the 24th, Han also criticized Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Young-hwan's remark via SNS, saying, "Is the Democratic Party investing in the inverse of Korea?" and "If you firmly believe that the Korean market is going downward, why don't you just invest in inverse products?"
