Samyangsa Sangkwaehwan Enters Lawson, One of Japan's Top 3 Convenience Stores

From the 1st of next month, approximately 10,000 stores will sell Hwan and Stick 2 types

Samyang Corporation announced on the 27th that starting from the 1st of next month, it will sell two types of hangover relief products, Sangkwhahan and Sangkwhahan Stick Shine Muscat flavor, at Lawson, one of Japan's three major convenience store chains.

Samyang's products will be stocked in about 10,000 out of approximately 14,000 Lawson convenience stores in Japan. The Japanese hangover relief market is dominated by hangover relief drinks such as "Ukon no Chikara" and "Heparize," and it is known to be larger than South Korea's hangover relief market, which is worth about 350 billion KRW.

Samyang decided to pioneer sales channels after recognizing the size and growth potential of the Japanese hangover relief market. The company explained that by targeting young people and women and emphasizing the quick hangover relief effect as well as the convenience of portable and easy-to-consume pill and stick products, they believed they could capture a niche market.

Previously, since 2022, Samyang has been actively expanding overseas by selling Sangkwhahan in about ten countries, including the United States, China, Thailand, and Australia.

Hong Sung-min, head of Samyang's H&B Business PU, said, "We will target the local market by highlighting Sangkwhahan's excellent hangover relief effect, ease of consumption, and convenient portability," adding, "We plan to overcome the limitations of the domestic market and accelerate the expansion of overseas sales channels by conducting various local marketing activities."
