GS held an event to share global artificial intelligence (AI) trends in collaboration with the large language model (LLM) application development solution company 'LlamaIndex'.

On the 27th, GS Group announced that it held the 'LlamaIndex & 52g-GenAI Connect Day' on the 26th at the GS Tower in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul.

The event, co-hosted by '52g' (5pen 2nnovation GS), an innovation community leading GS Group's digital transformation (DX), and LlamaIndex, was organized for global AI engineers to gather, share know-how on utilizing LLMs, and collaborate. LLM is a type of AI language model trained to understand and generate natural language using massive models and large amounts of text.

LlamaIndex is a comprehensive service company that helps develop applications based on LLM more easily. In the industry, it is recognized as a Silicon Valley company leading generative AI innovation, forming a duopoly with LangChain.

This is the first time LlamaIndex has held a workshop in Korea. After Tokyo, Japan, and Paris, France, Seoul was chosen due to the high evaluation of South Korea's AI capabilities and potential.

GS opened the event, which was previously held only for internal members, to the public. They judged it as an opportunity for domestic developers to interact with the global AI ecosystem and form communities. Over 100 attendees, including 70 external AI engineers, exchanged practical experiences applying LLM technology and industry trends.

Notably, this event was publicly broadcast worldwide through deeplearning.ai, an educational platform created by Andrew Ng, a professor at Stanford University in the United States. Professor Ng, known as one of the world's top four AI scholars, is conducting the 'Pie&AI' meetup series, which has attracted 70,000 participants from over 50 countries. This was the first domestic event introduced as part of the Pie&AI series, drawing significant attention.

Speakers included Pierre-Loic Doulcet, an engineer in charge of document analysis tools at LlamaIndex, and Heo Hoon, tech lead at Liner, a startup developing hyper-personalized AI agent solutions. They shared perspectives on problem-solving methods and operational strategies using LLM.

Engineer Pierre-Loic Doulcet said, "It is an honor to hold a workshop with GS, which applies AI across various fields and leads industry innovation."

On the same day, 52g introduced 'Mir,' a no-code generative AI development platform. Mir, developed in-house by 52g, is a platform that allows field employees without coding skills to create generative AI without the help of developers.

Byungjin Kang, manager at GS Co., Ltd., who planned the event, said, "This was a meaningful opportunity to prove GS's passion and level for AI and to communicate with the global community, and we will continue to expand such opportunities."

Meanwhile, GS Group is pursuing innovation by introducing AI and DX on-site. They are focusing on advancing DX activities centered on the field through initiatives such as the Silicon Valley-style idea competition 'GS Group Hackathon' using AI and joint work of DX personnel from each affiliate.
