T&R Biofab Signs First Supply Contract for Dissolvable HA Beauty Mask Pack

Regenerative medicine specialist T&R Biofab (CEO Yoon Won-soo) has signed a supply contract with domestic cosmeceutical company Epyo (CEO Ra Mi-ryeong) for its developed product, the 'Melting HA (Hyaluronic Acid) Beauty Mask Pack.' This contract marks T&R Biofab's first supply agreement for this product and corresponds to the first batch for 2024.

Epyo is well-known in Japan for its cosmeceutical brand 'Bonotox.' T&R Biofab anticipates ongoing supply contracts with Epyo in the future.

Additionally, this product is scheduled for its first broadcast this November on Japan's largest home shopping channel, QVC (QVC Japan, Inc.), followed by an introduction on domestic home shopping channels within this year. The company expects to obtain sales approval for the Chinese market in the first quarter of next year and stated that substantial export discussions with China are currently underway.

T&R Biofab is a company researching and developing artificial organs and organoids such as artificial skin. It has applied its completed technologies for solidifying various biomaterials and drug delivery, developed through its research, to cosmetics. Using proprietary technology, the company developed a formulation with melting properties by coating a high concentration of hyaluronic acid (HA)-based raw materials onto a film form, enabling mass production.

A company representative explained, "Many existing cosmetic ingredients exist in liquid form, which carries the risk of microbial growth. To prevent this, preservatives are added, which poses some safety limitations." They added, "By solidifying the product, the risk of microbial growth can be reduced without preservatives that may be harmful to the human body, thus enhancing safety."

They continued, "Therefore, this product developed in solid form (film) can preserve a high concentration of raw materials as is, allowing consumers to safely use products of consistently fresh quality."

T&R Biofab stated that it will continue supply contracts targeting domestic and overseas markets with Epyo next year. Furthermore, based on this technology, the company is collaborating with global firms and expects to secure various supply contracts targeting both domestic and international markets in the future.
