Clearly marks Dokdo, Korean territory, as a disputed area
Retweeted anti-Korean posts two years ago as well
Recently, Sergii Korsonskyi, the Ukrainian ambassador to Japan, has sparked controversy by posting a map issued by the Japanese Ministry of Defense on his social media account. On the 26th, Professor Seo Kyung-deok of Sungshin Women's University revealed through reports from netizens on his SNS that "upon verification, the map blatantly marked Dokdo as a 'disputed territory.'"

Along with the photo, Ambassador Korsonskyi wrote, "This map is the official 'Japan Defense Map' issued by the Japanese Ministry of Defense this year," adding, "Japan, the largest and most important partner in East Asia, is placed in a very unfair environment in Asia." Professor Seo immediately sent a protest email to the embassy regarding the post. He stated, "This map is merely Japan's groundless claim, and it may cause misunderstandings among Ukrainians," requesting its removal. He also attached a video about Dokdo, emphasizing, "Dokdo is clearly the territory of the Republic of Korea from historical, geographical, and international law perspectives."
Earlier this month, the Ukrainian ambassador to Japan stirred controversy by visiting Yasukuni Shrine, where Class A war criminals from the Pacific War are enshrined. Regarding this act, Professor Seo criticized, "As a diplomat of a country, you should first possess basic qualifications and make more efforts to properly understand Northeast Asian history." Additionally, two years ago, the ambassador caused controversy by retweeting a hate post on SNS stating, "From Japan's perspective, which has suffered damage from Korea, Russia is similar to Korea." Netizens who saw the post responded with comments such as, "No matter how desperate Japan's help is, this is unacceptable," "At this point, shouldn't support for Ukraine be cut off?" and "Living comfortably in Japan, he seems to mistake himself for Japanese."
