On the 26th, SKC is showing a steep upward curve in the stock market. Amid growing expectations for new businesses such as glass substrates, it was also reported that NexEon, a British anode material company invested in by SKC, won a long-standing lawsuit against a U.S. competitor.
As of 2:47 PM on the same day, SKC's stock price was trading at 144,200 KRW, up 8.99% from the previous day's closing price. It started rising early in the session and expanded its gains in the afternoon.
While SKC's existing businesses in secondary battery materials and chemical sectors have been sluggish, it has recently been strengthening new businesses in glass substrates and eco-friendly materials. It also established SK Livio, a bioplastic company, in partnership with a food company. A related factory is being built in Vietnam and will begin full-scale mass production starting next year.
News also came that NexEon won a long legal battle against the U.S. silicon anode material company Group14 Technologies. SKC is developing anode material technology with NexEon. Expectations have grown that the anode material business with NexEon will gain momentum in the future.
