Selected for the 2024 Gyeonggi Art Center Culture Picnic
Uijeongbu Science Library announced on the 26th that it will host a performance by the fusion gugak band ‘Dosi’ at 2 p.m. on October 19 as part of the ‘2024 Gyeonggi Art Center Cultural Picnic.’
The Gyeonggi Art Center’s Cultural Picnic is a visiting cultural welfare project that brings performances directly to sites in need of art within Gyeonggi Province to promote cultural welfare. Uijeongbu Science Library was selected as a performing institution for the second consecutive year following last year.
‘Dosi,’ composed of six members?vocalist Kim Ah-Young, geomungo and bass guitar player Park Cheon-Kyung, daegeum player Ha Dong-Min, piri player Oh Kyung-Jun, guitarist Lee Jun-Hyuk, and drummer Han Song-Yi?delivers a stage that resonates and communicates with the public through the fusion of traditional instruments and band sounds.
They reinterpret familiar songs such as those by IU and Taeyeon into gugak performances, offering enchanting melodies for citizens weary from the long summer heat on an autumn day.
Participation applications can be made from 10 a.m. on October 4 via the Uijeongbu Science Library website. For more details, please refer to the website notices or contact the Science Library.
