POSCO E&C Collaborates with Jeonju Small Concrete Companies to Promote Eco-Friendly Ready-Mixed Concrete Expansion

Agreement to Support Environmental Product Declaration Certification with 13 Ready-Mix Concrete Companies

POSCO E&C has decided to expand the use of eco-friendly ready-mixed concrete by collaborating with small and medium-sized ready-mixed concrete companies in the Jeonju area.

On the 25th, POSCO E&C announced on the 26th that it signed a business agreement to support the 'Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification' with 13 small and medium-sized ready-mixed concrete companies, including Daeyeon Concrete and Seobu Remicon, at the 4th site office of 'Jeonju Eco City The Sharp.' Officials from Jeonju City also attended the event.

The Environmental Product Declaration certification system is a program established by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute under the Ministry of Environment to accurately and transparently disclose environmental information of products and services, helping consumers purchase eco-friendly products.

Through this business agreement, POSCO E&C will support part of the costs required to obtain the Environmental Product Declaration certification, and the small and medium-sized ready-mixed concrete companies will acquire the certification by the first half of next year through consulting and other means. POSCO E&C expects that the supply of eco-friendly ready-mixed concrete will be strengthened at apartment construction sites in the Jeonju area.

POSCO E&C has actively promoted the spread of eco-friendly materials, such as operating an incentive system for companies holding eco-friendly certifications when contracting ready-mixed concrete, the first among domestic construction companies. Currently, it also supports obtaining eco-friendly certifications for building finishing materials and plans to gradually expand the range of supported eco-friendly certification items in the future.
