IBK Industrial Bank-Telecom 3 Companies, Collaboration Project to Prevent Voice Phishing Damage

Active Use of AI Voice Phishing Detection and Prevention Technology, Voice Phishing Monitoring

IBK Industrial Bank of Korea announced on the 26th that it signed a 'Mutual Business Agreement for the Prevention of Voice Phishing' with the three major telecommunications companies (SKT, KT, LGU+) at the IBK headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul.

This agreement holds great significance as the financial and telecommunications industries join hands to jointly respond to prevent public damage caused by voice phishing, a hotbed of financial crime.

Through this agreement, IBK plans to actively utilize the financial accident prevention by applying the financial sector customer protection enhancement solution 'SurPASS' provided by the three telecom companies to the voice phishing monitoring system.

Additionally, the three telecom companies will provide real-time information to the bank on whether phone numbers suspected of phishing are received when suspicious voice phishing transactions occur, using AI voice phishing detection and prevention technology. Based on this, IBK plans to promote voice phishing damage prevention by blocking transfers and withdrawals.

With this business agreement as a starting point, the four institutions will continue to build mutual cooperation to ensure the public's safety from voice phishing through the development of innovative voice phishing detection and prevention technologies.

An IBK official stated, "We expect synergy to be created for the prevention of voice phishing by linking the functions of finance and telecommunications," and added, "We hope voice phishing will be eradicated through smooth collaboration between the financial and telecommunications sectors."
