The Suwon Food Culture Expo will be held from October 4 to 6 at the Suwon Hwaseong Museum's affiliated parking lot.
Held during the 61st Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival, the Suwon Food Culture Expo moves away from the traditional food festival format focused on food sales, transforming into a festival where private sectors participate and visitors can enjoy various experiences. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 2 PM on October 4.
The venue will be divided into eight themed zones: ▲Business Hall (sales and promotion of food products, equipment, vegan-related products, etc.) ▲Saebit Restaurant (general) ▲Masildari Hall (food trucks) ▲Experience Hall ▲Food Culture Street Promotion Hall, among others.
At Saebit Restaurant, eight companies will participate, offering a variety of menus such as Mexican tacos, dumplings, galbisal skewers, seafood and beef udon stir-fry, Suwon bulgogi hangover udon, soy ramen, and jeon (Korean pancakes).
In the Business Hall, 28 companies will sell processed and ready-to-eat foods including sauces, dumplings, donuts, handmade fruit syrups, coffee, alcoholic beverages, bread, tumblers, salted seafood, and tteokbokki.
At the Experience Hall, visitors can participate in activities such as muffin decorating, making flavorful gochujang (red chili paste), creating personalized cakes, making Suwon yakgwa (traditional honey cookies), and pounding rice cakes.
The 13th Suwon National Cooking Contest, hosted by Suwon City and organized by the Gyeonggi-do Traditional Food Association, will begin at 9 AM on October 4.
Under the theme "New Trend Cuisine! The Shining Taste of Suwon!", a total of 18 teams will participate in two categories: live competition and exhibition competition. Awards including Grand Prize, Excellence, Merit, and Encouragement will be selected through judging.
The International Sister City Chefs Invitational Food Exhibition will feature 14 participants from three countries: Japan, Romania, and Vietnam. Events will include an international food show, food tasting, and cooking multinational dishes with chefs from around the world.
