CJ OnStyle Partners with Amazon to Support K-Beauty Expansion into the US

Support for Amazon Entry, Sales, and Marketing
for Partnered Beauty Brands

CJ OnStyle announced on the 26th that it will collaborate with Amazon Global Selling Korea to provide support for sales and marketing to help beauty brands listed on CJ OnStyle enter Amazon starting from the 1st of next month. Amazon is considered the world's largest e-commerce platform.


Through this, the strategy is to strengthen its role as a co-growth platform by supporting not only the discovery of emerging beauty brands but also their expansion overseas.

According to CJ OnStyle, as global interest in K-Beauty rises, K-Beauty brands are showing remarkable sales in the beauty category on Amazon in the United States as well.


In fact, the K-Beauty brand TIRTIR, sold on CJ OnStyle, ranked first in the entire beauty category on the US Amazon marketplace in June, becoming the first Korean makeup product to achieve this. APR, in which CJ OnStyle made a direct investment last June, recorded sales of 50 billion KRW in the US alone in the first half of this year and is experiencing high growth in Hong Kong, Japan, China, and other markets.


Partner companies of CJ OnStyle wishing to enter Amazon will be assigned a dedicated manager from Amazon Global Selling Korea for one-on-one (1:1) tailored consulting and intensive nurturing over about one year. This year, the program starts with 13 companies, including brands selected for 'CJ OnCubating (Onstyle+Incubating),' and plans to increase the number of supported brands next year. Representative brands include ▲ premium styling device 'Glamfarm' ▲ plant-based moisturizing care brand 'Nutserin' ▲ professional home care brand 'Thome,' among others.


To provide optimized Amazon advertising and marketing support for participating brands, CJ OnStyle made a strategic investment in June and conducted TIPS consulting with 'PulseAd,' a partner in Amazon advertising technology. PulseAd is a company that offers solutions to optimize Amazon ads through AI-based customized ad targeting, machine learning-based bidding algorithms, and real-time reporting.


A CJ OnStyle official said, "Through this collaboration, we will actively expand our role as a gateway for K-Beauty and become a global growth booster for our partners," adding, "We will continuously discover promising emerging beauty brands and become a platform that offers new growth opportunities on overseas stages beyond Korea."


Meanwhile, since March last year, CJ OnStyle has been running 'CJ OnCubating,' a program to discover and support the growth of promising domestic health and beauty (H&B) brands. The recruitment for the third term recently concluded, with over 100 brands applying and 15 brands finally selected. CJ OnCubating is a comprehensive support program that provides not only expanded sales channels through CJ OnStyle’s multi-channel network but also up to 400 million KRW in startup support funds, priority consideration for equity investment, as well as support linked to product planning, production and marketing, fulfillment, and export assistance.
