Hyundai Mobis announced on the 26th that it has received cybersecurity certification from the European Association of Automotive Manufacturers and Suppliers.
The European Association of Automotive Manufacturers and Suppliers is an organization composed of automakers and parts suppliers such as Daimler, Volkswagen, BMW, and Bosch. It oversees certifications related to vehicle cybersecurity. This certification is recognized as a mandatory requirement during the parts procurement stage for European automaker clients. Hyundai Mobis is the first automotive parts supplier from the Asian region to receive this certification.

Cybersecurity has become an important field as the proportion of software in vehicles increases and customized data processing expands. With vehicle security regulations being strengthened in each country, the company expects related certifications to become a crucial competitive advantage in securing orders from overseas automakers. As the industry anticipates a shift to software-defined vehicles (SDV), technologies to counter cyberattacks such as external hacking and to prevent the leakage of users' personal information have become increasingly important, making response capabilities essential.
This means that the major products developed and produced by Hyundai Mobis comply with automotive cybersecurity regulations within Europe, and the company has been recognized for having the necessary work procedures and systems in place. This applies to all areas from product design to evaluation, quality, production, and post-mass production management. In Europe, cybersecurity certification has been mandatory for all vehicles released after July of this year.
The company also stated that it has established a dedicated organization for this purpose since 2020 and has been working on advancing its work system (CSMS). Cheon Jae-seung, Head of Future Convergence Technology at Hyundai Mobis, said, "The importance of cybersecurity is growing in the future car industry, often called the 'running smartphone.' We will respond efficiently not only to European regulations but also to laws and standards in other regions."
