Seoul's Largest Workplace Established, Providing Eco-Friendly Reusable Container Rental and Cleaning Service
Opening Ceremony of 'Eco-Sonmoa Project Group' Held at Guro Regional Self-Support Center on the 24th
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) has launched the operation of the eco-friendly reusable container rental and cleaning project called ‘Eco-Sonmoa’.
‘Eco-Sonmoa’ is a self-support work project that not only provides healthy jobs to local community residents but also aims to protect the environment and create a sustainable society by using eco-friendly reusable containers instead of disposable products.
The district has established the largest business site in Seoul within the Guro Community Self-Support Center (exclusive area of 351.5㎡) and provides rental and cleaning services for eco-friendly reusable containers (such as trays, tableware, cups, etc.) through the ‘Eco-Sonmoa’ project.
Service users can rent reusable containers at desired locations such as kindergartens, daycare centers, cafes, public institutions, baseball stadiums, and local festivals through the rental service, and can also have used containers cleaned and returned through the cleaning service.
The cleaning process goes through six stages: preliminary washing, ultrasonic cleaning, high-temperature and high-pressure washing, hot air high-temperature sterilization, contamination inspection, and packaging. Depending on the characteristics of the containers, two cleaning lines are operated separately.

A Guro-gu official stated, “Through this project, we will strive to create a safe and healthy Guro-gu by generating jobs within the local community and protecting the environment,” and added, “We hope for much encouragement and support from local residents.”
Additionally, at the opening ceremony of the ‘Eco-Sonmoa Project Team’ held at the Guro Community Self-Support Center on the 24th, about 50 key figures including Moon Heon-il, the Mayor of Guro-gu, attended to offer congratulatory remarks and inspected the main facilities within the business site.
