Gyeonggi Province is operating a ‘Citizen AI Experience Evaluation Group’ to enhance residents' understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Earlier in August, Gyeonggi Province publicly recruited members for the evaluation group and, after a document screening process, formed a group of 50 residents including 10 welfare-related workers.
The selected evaluation group will participate directly in the development of AI public services by providing improvement suggestions on user convenience and effectiveness through a total of four online and offline AI demonstration experiences until November.
As their first demonstration experience, the evaluation group took part in the ‘2024 Gyeonggi Startup Summit - AI Innovation Joint Pavilion’ held on the 25th at the Suwon Convention Center.
Kim Gibyung, Director of the AI Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through the activities of the AI Experience Evaluation Group, residents will be able to understand AI more easily," adding, "We will actively support the operation of the evaluation group so that more residents can experience AI up close and strive to develop AI-based customized public services for residents."
Gyeonggi Province plans to discover innovative business models for solving social problems and public service innovation through demonstrations in various fields such as healthcare, welfare, transportation, and daily convenience, and will actively utilize the ideas and feedback from the evaluation group to improve AI services.
