October 1-2 at Dongdaemun-gu Office Auditorium: Specialized Training on Real Estate Brokerage Laws and Measures to Prevent Jeonse Fraud and Transaction Accidents for Over 600 Licensed Real Estate Agents
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will conduct the mandatory legal training, ‘Continuing Education,’ for about 640 licensed real estate agents operating in the area on October 1-2.
Although October 1 has been designated as a ‘temporary holiday,’ the continuing education will proceed as scheduled.
Based on the last digit of the trainees’ birth year, those born in odd years should attend on the 1st, and those born in even years on the 2nd, at the auditorium on the 2nd floor of the district office.
According to Article 34 of the Licensed Real Estate Agents Act, licensed real estate agents must complete continuing education every two years. They must complete both the ‘1st Cyber Education’ and the ‘2nd In-person Education,’ with the 1st Cyber Education available through the Seoul Lifelong Learning Portal.
If not completed, fines ranging from 200,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW may be imposed depending on the violation period.
To protect residents from increasing jeonse fraud, the district plans to focus the education on enhancing the professionalism and ethical awareness of licensed real estate agents, covering key topics such as ▲real estate brokerage-related laws ▲prevention of jeonse fraud ▲prevention of brokerage transaction accidents.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “I believe that the professional and conscientious work of licensed real estate agents is a very important aspect in preventing jeonse fraud,” and added, “I hope you will sincerely participate in the training.”
