Pusan National University Holds 'Dream Festa' to Support Student Startups and Employment... Discovering Future Talent

Co-hosted by University Headquarters and Student Council on Campus on the 25th

40 Companies, Recruitment Consulting, Startup Zone, and Youth Participation Programs

Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) held the “2024 Pusan National University Dream Festa,” a job and startup fair designed to support students’ employment and entrepreneurship activities and facilitate on-site meetings between students and companies seeking to recruit talent. The event was co-hosted by the Student Affairs Office, Startup Support Group, LINC Project Group, and the Student Council on the 25th at the university’s Neokneokhanteo.

This year’s “Dream Festa” featured a total of 40 companies and organizations, including Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation, Korea Asset Management Corporation, NongHyup Bank, Hana Bank, Samyang Group, and Hanwha Systems. The event operated 72 booths, including 45 recruitment information and counseling booths, a Startup ZONE, youth participation programs, and various event booths.

At the recruitment information and counseling booths, students and companies met to discuss job roles, hiring conditions, desired talent profiles, and other practical information needed for employment, as well as to answer questions related to recruitment. This provided companies with opportunities to attract outstanding talent.

The Startup ZONE supported various entrepreneurial activities across five different areas, including a one-stop consultation zone for startup counseling and a Startup Idea Zone for introducing project overviews, achievements, and showcasing products from outstanding companies.

On the special startup stage, successful entrepreneurs such as Ham Dongwook, CEO of Podo, and Kwon Taehyuk, CEO of Yeongnong, were invited to deliver special lectures and talk concerts, inspiring young entrepreneurs by sharing their stories of startup success.

Additionally, the Busan Military Career Design Support Center and Busan Eastern Employment Center promoted youth participation programs to help students systematically plan their military careers. Event booths were set up for personal color analysis, image making, career aptitude tests, and a “Dream Tag” side event was held to grant students’ wishes.

Lee Changgeun, Dean of Student Affairs at Pusan National University, stated, “It is significant that we prepared this event together with the Student Council to support students in successfully planning their career paths and making post-graduation decisions through recruitment counseling,” and added, “We hope that this job and startup fair, which fosters strong ties between the university and companies, will help resolve the information imbalance in the job market.”

Lee Changjun, President of the Pusan National University Student Council, who co-organized the event, also commented, “The university, Student Council, and companies have worked together for a long time to strengthen the career capabilities of our students who are struggling with youth unemployment. We hope this event provides practical help to students preparing for employment and entrepreneurship.”
