Conducted for 3 Days from the 26th Across Jangheung-gun Area
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 25th that it will hold the "2024 Jeonnam Student Sports Culture Festival" from the 26th to the 28th in the Jangheung-gun area.
This festival will be divided into ▲ sports, culture, and arts experience booths ▲ the 18th Superintendent's Cup School Sports Club Competition. This year, to increase participation from students and teachers, the opening ceremony will be simplified by sport, and the experience booths will be arranged by sport on one side of the stadium.
The experience booths will be operated in a total of 31 locations, including ▲ 12 schools within Jangheung ▲ Jangheung Indoor Gymnasium ▲ Jeongnamjin Resort, and will focus on activities that attract high student interest such as drone flight experience, mini glass bottle terrariums, and laser shooting, raising expectations.
Also, the 18th Superintendent's Cup School Sports Club Competition will feature 17 Ministry of Education designated sports such as cheerleading, tee-ball, jump rope, and soccer, as well as 9 Jeonnam Province designated sports including ssireum, bowling, judo, and boxing, all held throughout the Jangheung-gun area.
A total of 6,211 elementary, middle, and high school students from the province who passed the regional preliminaries will enter a three-day fierce competition to earn the right to participate in the national competition for the 17 Ministry of Education designated sports.
The Provincial Office of Education plans to support the selected teams’ participation in the "17th National Student Sports Club Competition" and will also promote various school sports club programs such as the Harmony Festival for 3rd-year high school students in the second half of this year.
Park Jaehyun, Director of the Physical Education and Health Division, stated, "Sports activities are a very important element in laying the foundation for lifelong physical education," and added, "We will continue to support various school sports club policies to activate student physical activities so that children in Jeonnam can grow up healthy and happy."
