SeersTech's MobiCare Tests Grow 100x in 4 Years... "10 Million People Need Testing"

Service Started in July 2020... 89% of Tertiary Hospitals Using It
Monthly Average Number of Tests Exceeds 10,000
"Approximately 10 Million People in Korea Need ECG Tests for Arrhythmia Diagnosis"

Wearable artificial intelligence (AI) diagnostic solution specialist company Seers Technology announced on the 25th that the cumulative number of Mobicare electrocardiogram (ECG) tests has surpassed 300,000. It has been four years since Seers launched the Mobicare service in July 2020.

Among the 47 tertiary general hospitals in Korea, 42 have adopted Mobicare, recognizing its technological excellence. More than 220 secondary medical institutions and over 580 primary medical institutions have also introduced the service, rapidly increasing the customer base.

The number of Mobicare tests has sharply increased from 1,700 in 2020, 11,200 in 2021, 45,200 in 2022, to 102,400 in 2023. The average monthly number of tests in the first half of 2024 has exceeded 10,000, and the annual number of tests this year is expected to surpass 170,000.

This growth is attributed to Mobicare’s convenience and its excellent AI algorithm for ECG analysis. The existing ECG testing device, Holter, had drawbacks such as high purchase costs, maintenance burdens, and difficulty for patients to carry out daily activities while wearing it. Seers lowered the introduction cost burden by offering a subscription-based service and minimized patient discomfort by using a lightweight, easy-to-wear patch-type wearable ECG device. By using the premium analysis service, users can receive reports reviewed by arrhythmia specialists, enabling many medical institutions without arrhythmia specialists to prescribe tests.

Another reason for the increase in tests is that Mobicare has been recognized as a reimbursable service by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service, allowing it to apply the National Health Insurance fee schedule. In fact, since the introduction of fees for wearable ECG tests that can be worn for extended periods?E6556 (over 48 hours up to 7 days) and E6557 (over 7 days up to 14 days) in 2022?the number of tests has rapidly increased.

A Seers representative stated, "According to clinical guidelines based on stroke risk indices, approximately 10 million people in Korea require ECG testing for arrhythmia diagnosis. Mobicare is increasing accessibility to ECG testing, creating a new turning point for the early prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases."
