On the 25th, the government held an expanded coordination meeting of the National Tourism Strategy Meeting at the Government Seoul Office, chaired by Yoo In-chon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and announced the fourth-quarter domestic tourism revitalization plan 'Traveling Autumn, Every Corner of the Republic of Korea,' jointly prepared with related ministries and 17 metropolitan cities and provinces.
This meeting was elevated from a vice ministerial coordination meeting chaired by a vice minister to a ministerial meeting to prepare agenda items for the National Tourism Strategy Meeting and coordinate among ministries. It reflects the government's recognition that domestic tourism revitalization must be supported alongside the government's second-half domestic demand revitalization measures to achieve practical effects.
Discount benefits will be provided to about 580,000 people for transportation, accommodation, and travel products, and a 'Autumn Festival Travel 100' stamp rally event will be held to enjoy local festivals and travel together.
Through this campaign, autumn travel courses that capture the charm of local areas will be discovered and promoted, and special discount benefits with high public satisfaction, such as transportation, accommodation, and travel products, will be provided to about 580,000 people, mainly in non-metropolitan areas.
Transportation benefits include a 50% discount on five tourist train routes and a 10,000 KRW discount on the rail travel pass 'Nailloro Pass.' Accommodation benefits include 500,000 discount vouchers for accommodations outside the metropolitan area and discounts at quality-certified lodging facilities. Travel products support includes a 20% discount on about 100 products under 'Traveling Autumn.'

A mobile stamp tour called 'Traveling Autumn, Festival Travel 100' will also be held, utilizing regionally focused cultural, performance, sports events, cultural tourism festivals, and nighttime tourism content as a catalyst for local tourism. From next month 1st to December 10th, prizes will be awarded to those who collect mobile stamps at festival points in two or more metropolitan cities or provinces.
Additionally, overlapping regional events and festivals by local governments will be enlarged and integrated under unified branding, and stay-type travel connecting regions will be expanded.
For the first time this year, integrated events such as '2024 Korea is Performing,' where diverse performances like theater, dance, and classical music can be enjoyed nationwide, as well as Busan's 'Festival Siwol' and Gwangju's 'G-Festa Gwangju,' will be held.

To attract foreign tourists to domestic travel with K-culture content, events such as the Hallyu Tourism Festival (October 5) and Hiker Festa (September 27?October 31) will be held, and domestic travel benefits will be provided by theme?Hallyu, history, beauty, and local?through the 'Korea Bucket List' project.
Specialized regional tourism programs will be offered to MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) participants, and unique regional tourism marketing using K-culture content such as food, sports, and traditional markets will continue.
The government will use this campaign as an opportunity to proactively and intensively identify inconveniences in tourism sites and improve the quality of domestic tourism services. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will form a special inspection team of about 100 citizens to directly inspect tourism sites and strengthen the response system to resolve tourism inconveniences between the government and local governments.
Based on the results of this expanded coordination meeting, the government plans to establish a comprehensive plan through inter-ministerial consultations and expert and industry feedback, and discuss it at the National Tourism Strategy Meeting chaired by the Prime Minister within the year.
