Imetek Launches New Electric Blanket and Electric Mat Products That Are Machine Washable

Gatevision Co., Ltd. has launched new winter products including electric blankets and heating pads from the premium electric blanket brand Imetec. Gatevision Co., Ltd. imports and introduces various overseas premium brands to Korea, such as LauraStar, Bissell, WOODS, and Sgab, and is the 15-year distributor of Dyson UK as well as the importer of DJI.

Imetec is a brand established in Italy in 1973, operated over three generations based on Italy’s unique craftsmanship spirit. Exported to 42 countries worldwide, it has built a reputation as a premium home appliance brand pursuing well-life beyond just home appliances and electric blankets. Since its first introduction to Korea in 2014, it has achieved cumulative sales of 1.5 million units domestically and set a record of selling out on home shopping for eight consecutive years, renewing its highest sales volume every year.

The newly released Imetec electric blankets feature a Made in Italy sensibility, utilizing handmade drawings by famous designers with patterns inspired by Italian landmarks such as Venice, Milan, Florence, Rome, and Bologna, adding an Italian touch. This completes a design differentiated from existing Imetec electric blankets.

Additionally, certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the electric blankets are made of 100% pure cotton, making them safe for children with sensitive skin. Equipped with the EESS safety system, the power automatically shuts off when malfunction or overheating is detected, ensuring safe use.

The electric blanket has grown up to 30cm larger than before, covering not only queen-size beds but also king-size beds. Using cozy velvet or fleece materials, it enhances warmth, and it meets the standard for washable electric blankets and electric throws, allowing safe and hygienic care. The velvet electric blankets come in three colors: emerald green, navy blue, and beige check, while the fleece electric blanket is available in red gray check, offering a variety of color options.

Lastly, the heating pad, designed for versatile use including the shoulder heating pad that caused a sell-out craze last year, can be used not only for warmth but also as a thermal therapy heating pad.

Imetec’s electric blankets, electric throws, and heating pads use a five-layer structured heating wire directly manufactured in Italy and are equipped with IntelliHeat automatic temperature control. Thanks to the patented EESS safety system, power is automatically cut off when overheating, leakage, or malfunction is detected, preventing potential risks. Furthermore, electromagnetic wave tests have been completed in three countries: Germany’s DEKRA, Korea’s KTL, and Italy’s IMQ.

Meanwhile, a Gatevision official stated, “Starting in October, when the cold season begins in earnest, we plan to launch a public broadcast TV commercial to promote the new products, and with Imetec’s top safety features, we plan to further expand the heating appliance market this year.” Imetec’s new products are available at Shinsegae Department Store, Galleria, Lotte Department Store, Hyundai Department Store nationwide, as well as online malls.
