Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) announced on the 25th that Won Jinseon, a fourth-year student in the Department of Nursing (Head of Department Kim Yoonji), recently participated in the National Assembly debate “Prospective Nurses Ask About Youth Politics,” held at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and received the “Next Generation Nursing Leader Excellence Award.”
This debate was organized by the Korean Nurses Association to foster the political leadership of prospective nurses who will lead the future of nursing in Korea and to enhance their understanding of nursing policies.
Nursing students from across the country gathered to discuss the future direction of nursing policies and to learn about the importance of political communication, creating a platform to strengthen the driving force behind the growth of Korean nursing.
Won Jinseon, who received the Next Generation Nursing Leader Excellence Award, said, “It was very meaningful to be able to receive this award as a student representative, and I would like to thank the professors of the Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology and President Tak Youngran for their dedicated support for nurses and students.”
Kim Yoonji, Head of the Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, stated, “We will continue to support our students so that they can develop their nursing leadership capabilities and strive to nurture talents who will contribute to the advancement and innovation of the nursing field.”
Since its establishment in 2009, the Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has been certified for five consecutive years up to the fourth cycle with the vision of becoming “the highest-level nursing department contributing to the promotion of future human health.” It was also selected as an exemplary institution in the education category in the “2019 Nursing College Clinical Training Education Support Project” organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
