LG Electronics to Participate in 'Hafco 2024'... Showcasing 'Space-Customized HVAC Solutions'

Held at Ilsan KINTEX from the 25th
Exhibition of chillers and other AI data center thermal management solutions attracting attention

LG Electronics announced on the 25th that it will showcase customized total HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) solutions for various spaces at HARFKO 2024 (Heating, Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration and Fluid Exhibition KOREA 2024), the Korea International Heating, Cooling, and Air Conditioning Exhibition, held at KINTEX in Ilsan until the 27th.

Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association, HARFKO has been held biennially since 1989, and this year marks its 17th edition. The theme of this year’s exhibition is "The Great Path of Future HVAC Technology Convergence."

LG Electronics set up a 270㎡ booth featuring an AI data center thermal management solution with a large-capacity chiller that has attracted attention, as well as spaces where visitors can experience optimized air conditioning solutions for residential, public, commercial, and industrial facilities.

First, under "Industrial Solutions," LG Electronics exhibited representative chiller products such as the "Inverter Scroll Chiller," which applies a high-efficiency inverter compressor that prevents instantaneous peak current compared to fixed-speed products, enabling stable operation, and the "Oil-Free Inverter Turbo Chiller," which uses a self-developed oil-free magnetic bearing technology that lubricates the motor shaft without oil (unlike conventional turbo refrigeration systems), reducing friction loss and improving energy efficiency.

In the "Residential Solutions" section, LG introduced the "One-Way Ceiling System Air Conditioner" and "Premium Ventilation System," along with an augmented reality (AR) airflow visualization solution. Visitors can visually confirm the direction of the air conditioner’s airflow, the discharge of polluted air, and the inflow of clean air filtered through the system via augmented reality.

Additionally, in the "Public Solutions" area, products such as "MultiV i" and "Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS)" were displayed, while the "Commercial Solutions" section showcased various air conditioning products including the Cold Chain and commercial stand air conditioners.

The secret to the high efficiency of LG Electronics’ air conditioning systems lies in its core component technology called "CoreTech." In particular, inverter technology adjusts the motor and compressor’s operating speed to run only as much as needed according to the situation, enhancing product performance and energy efficiency.

Lee Jae-sung, Vice President and Head of the Air Solution Business Division at LG Electronics H&A Business Division, said, "We will target the global HVAC market with various customized total heating, cooling, and air conditioning solutions, including large-capacity chillers."
