'Urban Museum' Shinsegae Hosts Cultural Heritage Media Exhibition at Central City

Collaboration with the National Museum of Korea... Content Including Banpasayusang Statue

Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 25th that it will hold a media exhibition digitally reinterpreting our cultural heritage on the first floor of Shinsegae Central City in Seocho-gu, Seoul, starting from the 27th.

This media exhibition is a collaboration between Shinsegae Central City and the National Museum of Korea. It consists of five pieces of content, prepared to allow visitors to enjoy the cultural heritage in the museum through vivid videos, according to Shinsegae.

The main work, "The King's Procession, Together with the People," is displayed on digital panels installed above 13 boarding platforms at Central City, each measuring 4.8 meters in length. The total length reaches 62.4 meters.

Visitors can experience 3D videos of King Jeongjo's procession, court dances, and the Nakseongyeon folk banquet festival celebrating the completion of Hwaseong Fortress. The court dances were enhanced with liveliness and fun by capturing the movements of actual intangible cultural heritage masters and applying them to the illustrations.

A 7-meter tall vertical panel installed on a pillar in the central square of Pami? Station features content themed on two national treasure Banjasayusang (Buddha statues in a meditative pose), which are representative cultural heritage items held by the National Museum of Korea.

Additionally, visitors can newly experience digital content featuring various floral patterns and traditional Korean clothing, such as the "Hwalot and Flower Waves," and the National Treasure No. 86, the Gyeongcheonsa Pagoda Ten-story Stone Tower.

A Shinsegae official said, "To welcome autumn, we are providing customers and citizens with an opportunity to experience our cultural heritage and art alongside shopping," adding, "We will present various content to satisfy customers' artistic experiences along with trendy shopping experiences."
