The 'Guro G Festival' Uniting People, Technology, and Culture Opens on the 27th

On the 27th, the grand opening of Guro-gu's largest festival, the ‘Guro G Festival,’ will take place along Anyangcheon (from Gocheokgyo to Ogeumgyo).

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is hosting the ‘2024 Guro G Festival × SMART Garden Light Festival’ for three days from the 27th to the 29th, aiming to make the festival a celebration that evolves and grows with residents, harmoniously blends people and technology, and serves as a cultural exchange connecting the local community with the world.

The district stated, “This year’s Guro G Festival will feature the main event alongside the SMART Garden Light Festival throughout Anyangcheon, a French cultural festival, the Guro Book Festival, and the G-Robot·AI World,” adding, “It will be a rich festival where people, technology, and culture come together as one.”

At the main stage near Gocheokgyo on Anyangcheon, the Guro G Festival opening ceremony will begin at 7 PM on the 27th, followed by a series of events including the opening celebration concert (27th), an outdoor DJ show (28th), and a nationwide TOP10 K-pop show special broadcast (29th). Popular domestic singers such as Ailee, Ali, Jung Dong-ha, Na Sang-do will perform at the opening celebration concert, while Outdoor DJ Show will feature Allkill and rapper Robbin, and the nationwide TOP10 K-pop show special broadcast will present performances by Park Ji-hyun, Kim Da-hyun, Park Seo-jin, Jo Hang-jo, and Hongja, providing captivating entertainment for both eyes and ears.

At the ecological flower garden near Ogeumgyo on Anyangcheon, the SMART Garden Light Festival (9.26.~10.26.) will kick off with a lighting ceremony at 7 PM on the 26th, ahead of the Guro G Festival opening. Themed ‘Smart Garden,’ the festival will feature media fa?ades using exterior walls as screens and a travel-themed photo zone.

In addition, the Guro Garden Festa (9.27.~10.26.) and the French Cultural Festival (9.28.~9.29.) will be held in conjunction with the light festival. Performances will include garden talk concerts and appearances by French invited singer Robin, the ELDEGEE band, Bicycle Riding Scenery, Yoo Ji-na, Marronnier, and Travel Sketch. Garden experiences, a garden gardening flea market, French cultural experiences, dessert booths, and a miniature Eiffel Tower photo zone will also be available throughout the event.

Moreover, the Guro Book Festival, held at the Anyangcheon water playground, will open at 2 PM on the 28th and run until 8 PM on the 29th under the theme ‘Humanism 2.0,’ offering various programs. On the 28th, at 2:30 PM, the ‘Smart Family Reading Golden Bell’ will take place, followed by a ‘Meeting with the Author’ lecture at 5:30 PM by Professor Kim Kyung-il of Ajou University’s Department of Psychology on ‘The Importance and Value of Humans in the AI Era.’ Notably, the outdoor library ‘Reading Guro’ will operate on a trial basis from 11 AM to 8 PM on the 29th.

At the G-Robot·AI World, from the 27th to the 29th, there will be robot and drone competitions, demonstrations of the 2.7m giant robot ‘Titan,’ the quadruped robot dog ‘Gurodaeng,’ and mini dance robots. Visitors can also enjoy an 88-inch transparent hologram display photo zone, caricatures drawn by an AI painter robot, and drone doll claw machines, among other interactive experiences.

Additionally, the festival will feature the Guro Carbon Zero Walking Event, Guro Food Market, Make Guro Art Market (exhibitions and sales of artworks created by local artists), local specialty product exchange market, and a children’s theme park (experience zones and play facilities), all operating continuously.

This year’s food market will use eco-friendly reusable containers to provide affordable and high-quality food, and card payment terminals will be introduced to enhance visitor convenience.

Furthermore, the main stage at Gocheokgyo and the SMART Garden Light Festival venue are each about a 10-minute walk from Guro Station (Exit 1) on Subway Line 1 and Dorimcheon Station (Exit 2) on Subway Line 2, respectively.
