Creating Cultural Rest Spaces like Book Cafes and Galleries
Providing Residents with Various Attractions through Large Media Art Wall Installation
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that the old district office lobby space has been renovated into a resident-friendly area and will be open to the public starting from the 24th.
The Geumcheon-gu Comprehensive Office, which opened in 2008, has had its lobby newly designed after about 16 years. Under the theme of "Culture and Rest," the previously inefficient space has been reorganized into a book caf? and gallery hall, allowing all residents to use it comfortably.
The district created a book caf? on the left side of the lobby so residents can enjoy reading with coffee. The caf? houses "Hamkke Green Caf?," a unique senior job project in Geumcheon-gu where elderly residents brew and sell coffee themselves.
In the center of the lobby, a large video exhibition screen (media art wall) covering the lobby wall has been installed. Visitors can dynamically experience Geumcheon-gu’s natural environment, promotional content, and artworks.
Opposite the video exhibition screen (media art wall), a small exhibition space and rest area have been created, allowing residents to comfortably relax while enjoying media videos, exhibition pieces, or reading.
Additionally, the frequently used first-floor restrooms have been completely renovated, and a nursing room has been newly established within the lobby to enhance resident convenience facilities.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “The district office lobby is the place most visited by residents and is an important space that determines the first impression of the district. We hope that visitors to the district office can enjoy various attractions and have a comfortable rest time in the lobby.”
