October 1, 7 PM, BEXCO 'Siwol Village': Korea's First Convergence Exhibition and Convention Event
Celebratory Performance by Popular Crossover Group Forestella, Fashion Show, Orchestra Performance, and Mass Choir
Busan City will hold the opening ceremony of 'Festival Shiwol', Korea's first convergence exhibition and convention event, at 'Shiwol Village' in the BEXCO outdoor parking lot on October 1 at 7 PM.
'Festival Shiwol' is a project being promoted with the aim of encouraging convergence among participating events and turning them into large-scale international events by linking with major international events held in October.
This event, under the theme 'Busan's Gift to Citizens', will feature an orchestra symbolizing convergence and the popular crossover group Forestella, and will run for about 90 minutes.
The opening ceremony will include a declaration by Mayor Park Hyungjoon, a fashion show for 'Korea-ASEAN Fashion Week', a performance by the Busan Chamber Society Orchestra, a celebratory performance by Forestella, and a joint choir performance with Forestella and citizens.
The city is recruiting attendees for the opening event through advance applications on the Festival Shiwol website until the 29th.
Holders of the integrated admission ticket for 'Festival Shiwol' can also enter the opening ceremony through pre-registration, and attendees will be able to participate in the citizen choir.
Information regarding admission methods and choir songs will be provided on the website.
During the Festival Shiwol period, from October 1 to 8, the BEXCO outdoor parking lot will be operated as 'Shiwol Village', a convergence hub space.
'Shiwol Village' will host various performances and exhibitions on different days, and the 'Silence Music & Dance Festival', a silent dance party, will be held daily from 7 PM to 10 PM.
Park Geunrok, Director of Tourism and MICE at the city, said, "We planned this event to establish the global brand 'Shiwol' through the convergence of various types of exhibition conventions (MICE) for the first time in Korea," and added, "We ask for the participation of many domestic and international tourists and citizens in this 'Festival Shiwol', where you can enjoy various international events in different fields at once during the event period."
