A Spectacular Scene Created by 500 Drones Over the Lake
Gyeonggi Paju City announced on the 24th that the "2024 6th Unjeong Lake Park Fireworks Festival," a night sky fireworks spectacle, will be held on the 28th at Paju Unjeong Lake Park.
The Unjeong Lake Park Fireworks Festival has been held annually since 2017, when residents organized it themselves, except during the COVID-19 period, and this year marks its 6th edition.
This year, the festival was named "Lafle 7 Light Festival," symbolizing the seven lights of the festival. Lafle is a compound word combining Light + Flower + Festival, and the seven lights represent ▲Fireworks Festival ▲Sculpture Exhibition ▲Music Fountain Show ▲Pre-performance ▲Youth Hope Festival ▲LH (Land & Housing) Paju Garden ▲and a hopeful message for "Citizen-centered Greater Paju."
On the day of the festival, from 2 PM, experience and sharing booths will operate as pre-events on the lawn next to the Play Cloud, and from 3 PM, Fireworks Radio, street performances, and pre-events by the Paju Gymnastics Association and the Municipal Art Troupe will take place. Following this, from 6:30 PM, performances by singers Gilgu Bonggu and Lee Boram (from SeeYa) will be held.
One of the highlights that will captivate citizens at this festival is the spectacular drone show, where 500 drones will create a special spectacle over the lake. Starting with the opening ceremony at 7:30 PM, the show will be brilliantly staged for about 30 minutes with the lake next to the Play Cloud as the backdrop.
The floor lighting (gobo lighting) carrying citizens' hopeful messages and the light sculptures installed along the Unjeong Lake Park walking trail will be available until the end of the year and can be freely viewed during this period.
Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju City, said, "The Unjeong Lake Park Fireworks Festival will be another source of joy for citizens living busy daily lives," adding, "As a large crowd is expected to gather for the viewing, pedestrian paths and roads around Unjeong Lake Park will be controlled, and safety management personnel will be deployed throughout the area. For smooth festival progress, we ask residents to use public transportation or walk to attend."
