Busan Gijang County, Over 150 County Volunteers Join in Unison for KTX-Eum Stop Station Initiative

County Governor Jeong Jongbok Leads the Way for a Seamlessly Connected Gijang County

On the 24th, Gijang County in Busan, under the supervision of the Gijang County Volunteer Center, held a "KTX-Eum Gijang County Stop Attraction Performance."

This attraction performance took place at the Gori Sports Center alongside the "Gijang County Volunteer Center Revitalization Lecture." About 150 active volunteers from Gijang County participated, raising their voices in unison to support the attraction of a KTX-Eum stop in the county.

One of the volunteers who took part in the attraction performance said, "There are many inconveniences for local residents living in Gijang County when using the KTX," and added, "I hope that KTX-Eum will soon stop in Gijang County so that people in the area can conveniently travel to Seoul."

County Mayor Jung Jongbok stated, "All residents are actively coming forward to attract a KTX-Eum stop," and continued, "I will take the lead in making Gijang County a transportation hub by securing a KTX-Eum stop in the county."

Gijang County already completed a feasibility study for the KTX-Eum stop attraction in 2022 and directly submitted a petition with 141,000 countywide signatures to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2023.
