Daedong Hospital (Director Lee Gwangjae) invited medical staff from the Mongolian Railway Hospital for a two-week physician training program and held a completion ceremony for the Mongolian doctors on the 10th floor auditorium on the 24th.

This invitation was made possible by being selected for the ‘2024 Busan Medical Technology Exchange Promotion Support Project,’ with support from Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, allowing Daedong Hospital to invite Dr. Batjargal from the Department of General Surgery and Dr. Anudari from the Department of Gastroenterology at the Mongolian Railway Hospital.
The Mongolian medical staff, upon arriving at Gimhae Airport, were welcomed by staff from the Daedong Hospital International Medical Center and moved to the hospital, where they attended a welcoming ceremony with Director Lee Gwangjae, International Medical Center Director Kim Youngjun, and others. Afterwards, they participated in orientation and hospital rounding with the dedicated medical staff from each department.
The program included ▲conferences ▲observation of outpatient care ▲observation of endoscopy for various gastrointestinal diseases ▲observation of laparoscopic colon disease surgery ▲observation of laparoscopic cholecystectomy, among others.
At the completion ceremony, Director Lee Gwangjae (Endocrinology Specialist), Dr. Park Kyunghwan (General Surgery Specialist) in charge of education, and Dr. Lim Taewon (Gastroenterology Specialist) were present. Also attending were International Medical Center Director Kim Youngjun (Orthopedic Specialist), Medical Director Jeong Dongmun (Neurosurgery Specialist), Administrative Planning Director Choi Minwhan, Nursing Director Jeong Mijin, Management Support Director Hong Byeongho, IT Deputy Manager Choi Seongun, External Cooperation Team Leader Park Sanghee, Coordinators Shin Junhan and Kwon Taehui, Mongolian interpreter and Manal Trade CEO Lee Sujeong, Busan Economic Promotion Agency Overseas Medical Business Team Leader Hwang Miyeong, and others who celebrated the occasion.
Dr. Batjargal, General Surgeon, said, "I was deeply impressed by the history of Daedong Hospital, which began 79 years ago when the late Dr. Park Youngseop founded Daedong Clinic, later became Daedong Surgical Hospital, and has now grown into a general hospital." He added, "I am grateful for the valuable opportunity to observe advanced techniques such as laparoscopy."
Dr. Anudari, Gastroenterologist, said, "It was a great honor to receive training from medical staff equipped with the latest endoscopy equipment and extensive clinical experience. Although the period was short, I am thankful for the diverse programs provided by Daedong Hospital, and I will make good use of the skills I learned when I return to Mongolia."
Daedong Hospital is actively engaged in promoting medical tourism in Busan, having been selected as one of the ‘Top 30 Cooperative Institutions for Attracting Foreign Patients in Busan in 2023’ and one of the ‘Top 20 Cooperative Institutions for the 2024 Mediwell Busan Joint Promotion.’
