SAMG Entertainment Secures 200,000 Viewers for Movie 'Sarang-ui Hachuping' in Theaters

SAMG Entertainment announced on the 24th that the Chinese box office revenue for the movie 'Love's Hatchuping' has surpassed approximately 7.48 million yuan (about 1.5 billion KRW) as of the previous day.


According to official records from the Chinese movie ticketing site 'Maoyan' confirmed by SAMG Entertainment, the ticket sales for the movie 'Love's Hatchuping,' which was released locally in China on the 15th, amount to about 7.48 million yuan (approximately 1.5 billion KRW).


In China, unlike in Korea, the total ticket price sum is used as the main indicator rather than the number of viewers. Dividing this amount by China's average ticket price of about 35 yuan suggests that around 210,000 viewers visited theaters to watch the movie 'Love's Hatchuping,' the company explained.


A SAMG Entertainment representative stated, "The movie 'Love's Hatchuping,' which premiered on the 15th coinciding with the start of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, recorded box office revenue of about 7.48 million yuan as of the previous day, with approximately 200,000 viewers."


The representative added, "In China, not only the movie but also the Catch! Tinyping series has aired up to season 3, securing cumulative recognition of the Tinyping IP (intellectual property). Sales from Tinyping-related MD (merchandise planning) and licensing have been growing more than double annually. Overcoming the recently sluggish Chinese film market environment to release the movie locally itself holds great significance, and this movie release will serve as a catalyst for the full-scale globalization of the Tinyping IP brand."
