The Chief of Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency is implementing a comprehensive traffic plan to foster a mature traffic order culture.
According to Jeonbuk Police on the 24th, this plan is being carried out to correct the increased traffic fatalities this year and to protect the safe daily lives of residents. With the slogan "Traffic Safety Awareness UP, Fatal Accidents DOWN," the focus is on raising traffic safety awareness in Jeonbuk to reduce fatal accidents.
To this end, the police plan to secure traffic safety through collaboration with local security communities, including residents, the Autonomous Police Committee, Korea Road Traffic Authority, Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and the Model Drivers Association.

As the first step, from the 10th of this month until the end of the month, a "National Daily Traffic Inconvenience Resolution Contest" is currently underway. This is to directly hear the voices of residents and discover practical traffic policies to resolve traffic inconveniences experienced by residents.
Additionally, a cooperative system has been established with traffic specialized organizations such as the Korea Road Traffic Authority and Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and a working-level council is continuously promoted to add synergy effects to traffic accident prevention measures within the province.
Within the police, they are moving beyond superficial analysis of traffic fatalities. Using a traffic fatality database from the past three years, they have selected areas with frequent traffic accidents.
Choi Jong-moon, Chief of Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency, said, "Safety on the road cannot be achieved by the police alone; every resident must observe traffic rules and work together." He added, "We ask for the active interest of all residents in traffic safety to help cultivate a mature traffic culture in Jeonbuk."
