HDC Hyundai Development Company, which received the Asia Economic Representative Award in the landscaping category of this year’s Asia Construction Comprehensive Awards, was highly praised for implementing high-quality landscaping that allows residents to enjoy nature blended with plantings and art pieces.

When designing apartment complexes, HDC Hyundai Development Company presents different landscapes according to the characteristics and nature of the land. They collaborate across fields to create three-dimensional spaces and design harmonious forms and color schemes in an integrated manner.

The apartment complex that best expresses HDC Hyundai Development Company’s landscaping characteristics is ‘Pohang I-Park.’ This complex features high-quality, nature-friendly landscaping that offers a modern resting space filled with freshness. Pohang I-Park is an apartment complex located at 360-13 Yongsan-ri, Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongbuk, consisting of 8 buildings ranging from 2 basement floors to 29 floors above ground, with a total of 1,144 units sized between 75 and 101㎡.

The main landscaping area within the complex, ‘Mulsoridamwon,’ which combines resort-like scenery with artistic sensibility, includes a resting space teahouse with a cascade-type water feature where visitors can experience the modern waterfall facility called Waterfall Island. On the Art Hill Ground, a water feature surrounding a two-tiered green stand and lawn yard, art pieces are installed. The artwork ‘Circulation’ is inspired by nature and expresses the transformation of a square structure into an arched curve. The art piece ‘EVERGREEN,’ which allows viewers to appreciate the vitality of nature in 360 degrees, further enhances the beauty of the landscaping.

The main plaza was designed as a comfortable resting space where the teahouse and artworks harmonize. The walking path crossing the complex is lined with various herbaceous plants, mist poles, and artworks under pine trees, providing a refreshing atmosphere. There are three distinctive playgrounds, smart exercise equipment for different age groups, and a fitness court installed. At the entrance of the outer walking path, a sign wall symbolizing the complex is placed. A flower path resembling a botanical garden unfolds with plants such as tree hydrangea, bluebell, pampas grass, and pink muhly.

The community space Picnic Camp features a large oak forest, and between the tree trunks, camping decks for families and various shrubs and design partitions are installed. Major spaces within the complex are decorated with large trees such as hackberry, holly, and elm, layered with various other trees. To enjoy the changing seasonal scenery, deciduous trees like camellia, persimmon, plum, dogwood, king cherry, and Japanese snowbell are planted alongside evergreen trees such as pine, Korean spice viburnum, and Japanese cornel. Understory shrubs and herbaceous plants were also carefully selected and planted for their seasonal flowers and fragrances.
