Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical, a specialist company in over-the-counter drugs, announced on the 24th the launch of a new lineup product of the disposable eye drop brand ‘Tear & Talk,’ named ‘Gyeongnam Tear & Talk Moisture Eye Drops 1.0%’.
This new product is characterized by having a different ingredient from the existing ‘Tear & Talk’ so that consumers can choose the product according to their needs. The previously released ‘Tear & Talk’ contains the moisturizing ingredient trehalose, providing high moisturizing power and helping with dry eyes and fatigue.
‘Gyeongnam Tear & Talk Moisture Eye Drops 1.0%’ mainly contains carboxymethylcellulose sodium (CMC). This product is effective in temporarily relieving symptoms such as dry eyes, burning sensation caused by exposure to wind and sunlight, irritation, and discomfort.
The CMC ingredient attracts moisture to the eyes, increasing the amount of the tear film and is effective for dry eye syndrome caused by a deficiency in the aqueous layer. Additionally, its high viscosity provides excellent adhesion and a thick texture, allowing for long-lasting moisturizing effects.
Compared to Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical’s existing product line, ‘Gyeongnam Tear & Talk Moisture Eye Drops 1.0%’ contains twice the concentration of CMC, enhancing moisturizing effects, making it suitable for people with severe dry eyes due to eye surgery or those who need artificial tears with high moisturizing ingredients. This product is to be applied 1-2 drops when symptoms occur and is preservative-free, packaged in single-use 30 vials for safety and convenience.
A representative from Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical stated, “As the artificial tear market is growing by promoting products based on different ingredients, we have launched a new CMC-based artificial tear product. We plan to continue introducing various products tailored to consumer targets, considering their condition, symptoms, and convenience.”
Meanwhile, ‘Gyeongnam Tear & Talk Moisture Eye Drops 1.0%’ is available as an over-the-counter drug and can be purchased at pharmacies.
